The awesome guys at Udemy recently contacted me to help promote their JavaScript Beginner’s Course across the web. I have written a few articles on JavaScript tips before and have also written articles on Online Education and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS). So I wasn’t surprised.
JavaScript is a powerful language and arguably one of the most important languages any software developer should have as part of their skill set. Although JavaScript is first and foremost a front-end scripting language, these days, with server-side implementations of JavaScript like Node.js, developers can now build full web apps/solutions without needing to learn or use conventional server-side languages like C#, Java, or PHP.
A cool example of the power of JavaScript (especially when combined) with HTML5 can be seen in my implementation of an Actual Size Online Ruler.
I’m a strong proponent of Online Education and MOOCS and I highly recommend Udemy’s JavaScript Beginners’s Course. It is one of Udemy’s most popular offerings.
About Udemy
Udemy is a well-known website for learning pretty much anything online. Here’s how they have described themselves:
Udemy’s goal is to completely disrupt and democratize the world of education by enabling anyone to teach and learn online.
Just as blogging democratized the publishing industry (enabling anyone to instantly become a journalist), Udemy seeks to dramatically change education by empowering millions of experts around the world to teach & share what they know online.
We’ve built an incredible platform that makes it easy for anyone to build an online course. Instructors can use video, PowerPoint, PDFs, audio, zip files and live classes to quickly build a course and teach anyone what they know.
Thousands of people teach and learn on Udemy everyday, and they’re not the only ones who are excited about our platform – our investors previously foresaw the Internet giants YouTube, LinkedIn, Zynga, Twitter and Yelp.
DISCLAIMER: I recommend this course because I think it is good value and worth it especially if you’re new to programming or have gone rusty with your front-end skills. I wasn’t paid to promote this. This article does not contain any affiliate links either.
The coupon code you need to get the discount is: TechnicalNotesofEhiKioya
It gives you 80 percent off the full price of the course. As of this writing, the course is priced at $49. So with this coupon, you only get to pay about $10.
From my conversation with an Udemy representative, this coupon does not have any expiration date (which is totally cool in my opinion).
If you do use the coupon and take the course, please drop a comment here and share your thoughts.
Haven’t heard of Udemy. Thanks for the heads up!
